The interview and conversation between the President of Guatemala, Dr. Bernardo Arévalo, and Carlos Figueroa Ibarra was the culmination of the International Colloquium “Social Sciences and Violence in Central America between Sieges and Resistance,” organized by the Working Group “Violence in Central America” of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) and held in Guatemala City on December 4–6, 2024. The meeting with President Bernardo Arévalo, entitled “The Second Spring, 70 Years after the Overthrow of President Jacobo Arbenz,” took place in the Hall of Flags of the National Palace of Culture on Friday, December 6, 2024.
