Abstract

The following article deals with subjective destitution as a necessary procedure for a historical process of social emancipation. Given that, from the psychoanalytic point of view, the constitution of a social framework cannot exist without some form of identification, the author points out the importance of understanding the dynamics of transference in the clinic in order to deal with the processes of subjective destitution that take place in the course of a historical transformation of a radical nature. There is always a relationship between the act and the attempt to transform the impossible of jouissance into the figure of a future form of relation, giving body to the impossible. Thus, in the transference, it would not be possible for the subject not to be driven by the emergence of jouissance beyond the forms of the symbolic inscription of desire. This is exactly what allows for the liquidation of the transference, its non-consolidation into a simple relation of suggestion and dependence. It is there that resides, in the very constitution of the social bond, the possibility of non-adaptation with the totality and, therefore, of its revolutionary transformation.
