Abstract

After the terrible and spectacular events of September 11, 2001, and Bush’s declaration of war on anyone (country, people or person) not on the side of an “us” defined by the US government, I attended an academic event very close to the city where my mother lives. From that experience, the author reflects on the Twin Towers and the fetishes of modernity.
