Founding juncture marked by the leading role of youth political and cultural organizations in an articulating process of youth networks formed by politicians, students and workers, and by the influence of socialist ideas in the midst of post-world warfare, all within the framework of the first constitutional government presided over by Doctor Juan José Arévalo (1945-1950) and his confrontation with the coup attempts by a traditionally anti-communist right. The sources to which the essay refers include specialized historic bibliography, periodicals and interviews with protagonists.
