Introduction

Abstract

Since its inception, Bajo el Volcán has sought above all to serve as a critical space for presenting diverse research, and especially the research and topics discussed in the Graduate Program in Sociology of the Instituto de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades “Alfonso Vélez Pliego” of BUAP. The polyphony of the discussions heard and held in these spaces has allowed the journal not only to survive but also to grow richer over time, critically expressing the different topics that arise as history unfolds. This issue brings together work on bodies, violence and subjectivities, and on Zapatismo and anti-systemic movements.
