The central argument of the work proposes understanding the twenty-first-century international landscape, immersed in war and environmental devastation, not as a crisis of the capitalist system in the strict sense, but rather as a process of reconfiguration of global hegemony that above all calls into question the continuity of Western hierarchy. Contemporary tensions contrast sharply with perspectives attached to the end of history and the triumph of Western liberal democracy, which assumed a world overflowing with cooperation and peace; the result has been otherwise: what we are witnessing is a mismatch in the political and economic architecture of the international order that generates increasingly pronounced tensions.
