“We live in dark times of renewed violence and blind barbarism; times of profound restructuring and unlimited expansion of capital’s domination over the world of human and non-human life.” The diagnosis from which the collective work Lo comunitario-popular en México: desafíos, tensiones y posibilidades, coordinated by Lucia Linsalata, sets out could hardly be bleaker. And the fact that the authors gathered in this volume are determined to confront this diagnosis and to think our present from there, instead of hiding behind the empty hopeful discourse so fashionable among a certain academic left, is a first notable merit of the work.
