This article is the result of the research project entitled “The concept of Plenitude in Marx”, registered with the SIU of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia and seeks an approach to the idea of plenitude of Marx based on some phrases mentioned by this author in the Philosophical Economic Manuscripts. Although the origin of the word is of a metaphysical nature, which, in principle, can establish distances with historical materialism, the idea of plenitude can only be understood as the other side of alienation, a concept that Marx does address and scrutinize with greater care. This work is part of a qualitative paradigm with a hermeneutic historical approach because it tries to appreciate concepts to redefine them considering theoretical approaches other than those that have been dominant. Hence, the originality of this article lies in exploring an idea that is not typical of the writer of the Economic- Philosophical Manuscripts.
