Abstract

This article is the result of a body mapping that we did personally as authors, based on the methodology of autoethnography.42 This idea arises to expand the reflections that were presented in the theoretical-practical discussion workshop “Experiencing the City: Critical Theories and Visual Methods”, which took place at the Institute of Science and Humanities Alfonso Vélez Pliego of Mapear el cuerpo-territorio desde las periferias: una Mirada a la espacialidad patriarcal de la toluca-industrial155 the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, from August 24 to 26, 2022. The thematic line where these reflections were presented was “Non-hegemonic Subjectivities and the symbolic and material order of the city”. The intention of this autoethnographic exercise is to expand the reflections from the tool of body mapping to analyze how we experience, inhabit and resist an industrialized city like Toluca, in the Estado de Mexico. That is, how a specific spatiality permeates in a forceful way the bodies and vice versa, how experiencing the city as non-hegemonic, racialized, precarious, feminized bodies, crosses us women in forceful ways.
