Looking at the city and investigating from it implies rethinking and building observation structures that allow us to focus on the image to enable our experience. The creation of a visual archive, the application of an observation matrix and the use of images as theoretical triggers allow us to recognize in the city –Toluca, State of Mexico–, a space traversed by multiple sociocultural practices beyond a mere geographical location. Through this methodological journey, we observe that the image is discourse, trace, footprint, and memory.
