“Brilliant, but useless”. For years, these types of statements have characterized the critics to the Critical Theory of Adorno. Some of the reasons for these critics are based on the contradictions of his thought, as well as its impossible translation in terms of a political program, along with the well-known altercation he had with the students. Beyond these considerations, this text aims to point out the conceptions that the Frankfurt thinker had about the relation between theory and praxis, to remove the veil of his mentioned passivity, and to point out the historical character of his own reflections on this matter.
