Fabio Pitta is a Brazilian geographer and a member of groups such as Grupo Sexta (part of the Urban Geography Laboratory of the University of São Paulo) and Exit!. He has devoted years to analyzing the critique of value-dissociation in Brazil, and the fruit of this research was his doctoral thesis and, among others, the text I have the opportunity to comment on here. It should be made clear from the outset that this text was conceived as an article for the journal Exit! itself, and that is how it was published in its German original. What we have here, therefore, is a fine translation of that article. This clarification matters because it is neither a book in itself nor a text that can be approached directly by all audiences.
