We write after almost 18 months—a year and a half!—of this pandemic-capitalist-sanitizing era. It is stimulating because the texts brought together here constitute both a contrast and a reminder: there was life in struggle then, there has been life in the midst of this chronic overlapping of crises and uncertainties, and we will keep pushing when all this stabilizes, perhaps becoming chronic. In fact, we believe that without the diagnoses, vocabularies and networks of feminist practices that have been gaining strength in recent years, we would not be going through the pandemic in the same way. Today, as we so miss a life that is neither confined nor repeatedly threatened by “contagion,” we miss and do not forget the compañeras who did not survive this unprecedented period that we are, in many ways, resisting while we rehearse ways of subverting it.
