Taking as the epigraph of my contribution the action of the Parisian workers in the Revolution of 1830, which Sergio Tischler recalls in his book, I want to highlight the proposal his writing makes by telling a rebellious history that constitutes a discontinuity of national history in order to uncover its reverse side: those aspects of its unfolding that people do not want to talk about, whether out of a lack of intellectual honesty or to serve interests of domination that seek to prevent knowledge and discussion of the “histories” and “memories” that challenge the power which commemorates and erects statues of this past so that it does not become present to us.
