The present essay aims to show how material (E’) and immaterial energy lay at the basis of social action, which is, further on, the basis of human communities and societies. Upon the present knowledge of physical sciences, particularly quantum physics, the directionality of energy in all its forms, and under conditions of the dialectical evolution, is here emphasized as a previous expression of human intentionality to act. Secondly, we analyze the preconditions that prepare the mind to receive the message of the object of the social relationship, i.e., the encounter with the other part of all human relationships. The E’/matter conditions all relations; it gives them proper place in space and time. In turn, immaterial energy prepares the mind to encounter the other part of the relation, endowing the social actor to recognize a) the goodness of “being” (aesthetic precondition) and b) the usefulness of it (utilitarian precondition). On those basis, human action reveals itself as the locus of conscious responsibility (moral quality of acting) in every person. Phenomenological analysis confirms the foundations of human action.
