Abstract

Before asking what alternative the left can offer, we need to understand what is happening within the left itself: where it comes from and, above all, where it stands and where it is heading. In today’s European left there is, in my view, a polarizing tendency between two models: an institutional left and a social left. A left alternative can only be built insofar as this tendency is reversed.
