The Bolivarian revolution, “either we invent or we err”: Keys to reading the Venezuelan process of social transformation

This article is an approximation to the contemporary political process of Venezuela. After presenting the Venezuelan experiences with parliamentary democracy, which was instituted in an agreed on and excluding way since 1958, this article analyzes Bolivarianism as a social and political movement and approaches the social policies of the Bolivarian governement, followed by a detailed description of Communal Councils which, along with other councils, are considered the mainstays of the strengthening of popular power and Venezuelan Socialism.
