Requesting a posthumous honorary doctorate for Alfonso Vélez Pliego makes it possible to consider as a whole the thought and work of a university man concerned with developing democratic life, devoted without interruption to education, the dissemination of culture, the protection of heritage and the promotion of the arts, the humanities and the social and exact sciences.
