Very few of the political actors on the national stage today can refer with pride, without shame or contempt, to the historical struggles of the Mexican people. Most of those who present themselves as popular representatives, public servants or candidates identify instead with the interests of the power that has imposed, so many times by blood and fire or against the majority, its own view of what is acceptable and possible for all and, of course, for themselves.
