Abstract

Poverty reduction occupies first place among the Millenium Development Goals signed on to by world leaders and issued by the United Nationals. However, it seems that this goal is not attainable given that almost half the world’s population lives in poverty. This article explores the seriousness of the problem at the world level and presents some of the existing obstacles to delivering assistance to the groups that most need it.
