In the 1960s, tomorrow began to turn into an inperious day in Central America; crisis precipitated the rebellion and the rebellion deepened the crisis. The present work argues that even as revolutionary change in Central America was a fact of great present importance, it occurred at an inopportune moment in relation to what was taking place in the rest of the world. Thus, the tragedy of Central American revolution -and of the Sandinista Revolution in particular- was to move against the grain of what was occurring in the world.
