Change the World Without Taking Power is not a book about how to change the world we live in, still less about how to do so without taking power. Nor is it specifically devoted to analyzing its subtitle: the meaning of revolution today. This mismatch poses a first problem, since the title and subtitle raise expectations in the reader that are not met by what John Holloway discusses in its three hundred pages. Hence the book has provoked many negative, even harsh, reactions among Marxists of different families.
