Abstract

Introduction to issue 5 of Bajo el Volcán. The issue devotes a dossier to the crisis and insurrection of December 2001 in Argentina and also brings together works on Bolivia and the Movement for Socialism, the resistance of San Salvador Atenco, violence and human rights in Chiapas, Indigenous rights, political violence in Colombia, Marx and science, university research, Latin American migration to Japan, and two book reviews.
