Abstract

Introduction to issue 9 of Bajo el Volcán. The issue brings together works on the globalization of corruption and democracy, subjectivity and the piquetero movements in Argentina, the Sandinista revolution, community struggles in South Africa, Italian workerism, Marxisms at the turn of the century, masculinity, the Holloway-Dussel-Boron debate, the cultural history of the Mexican peasantry and world poverty, as well as two book reviews.
